The Technology Center of Chengdu Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group (hereinafter called Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group in short) is a “National-level Enterprise Technology Center” accredited by five State ministries and commissions including Development & Reform Commission of the State, Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Finance, General Customs Administration and the Taxation Administration of the State. The Enterprise Technology Center of Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group (hereinafter shortened as Technology Center) has set up a definite strategy for technical innovation and the goals for a long and middle term development. It has a perfect technical innovation system, well framed organizational structure and a complete system for technical innovation and management. Approximately 6% of sales income is invested into the research & development activities of Technology Center each year. A well educated technical innovation team with abilities, stability, and good age as well as a reasonable knowledge structure has been established by the Technology Center, and some superior technical experts have been introduced from abroad. The Technology Center has established a close cooperative relationship with more than ten universities and scientific research institutes through conducting an active cooperation in production, study and research. Until now, a research direction and product structure focused on four fields of tumor, neuropsychiatric, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular and endocrine have been set up by the Technology Center. It owns 61 patents in total, whatever domestic or international, including one US patent and five PCT patents.

   The Technology Center has always kept itself under the guidance of the innovative development strategy and the market orientation, and it has developed some innovative patent drugs which have significant social and economic benefits. Developed by the Center, chemical drugs like “Venlafaxine Hydrochloride Capsule” (Trade Name: Blossom) and “Aripiprazole Orally Disintegrating Tablet” (Trade Name: Brisking) have become the predominant products of Southwest Pharmaceutical Company under the leadership of Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group. Blossom is the first SNRI antidepressant, and it has become the domestic first-line drug on the treatment of depression and anxiety. Brisking is a DSS anti-schizophrenia drug in the world, and has become the domestic first-line drug for the treatment of schizophrenia, and it is highly praised by clinical doctors and patients. The natural drug “Songling Xuemaikang Capsule” developed by the Center is an exclusive patent-protected product and has entered into the National Basic Drug Catalogue and the Medicare Class-A Directory, which shows good effects on decreasing blood pressure and regulating blood fat. Currently, there are more than 10 topics on the research and development of a new drug in the Center, of which each has its own independent intellectual property right. Four topics have become National Class- I New Drugs. The research & development technical platform and industrialization technical platform of autologous tumor vaccines and protein drugs of antibody have been successfully constructed by the Technology Center in the biopharmaceutical field. The above-mentioned technical platforms, whatever in the construction of the research & development conditions, or in the construction of the innovative teams, or in the independent innovation on the key core technology, or in innovation achievements acquired stage by stage, have been in the leading position in China, even in the same level as the developed counties in Europe and America.
